Let Your Words Reflect Christ

“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” —Colossians 4:6 ESV

RECEIVE

The grace we receive from Christ is meant to shape the way we speak. Jesus held truth and love together perfectly. His words were never careless, harsh, or empty. They revealed the heart of the Father and sought the true good of the person before Him.

REFLECT

Our words can carry encouragement, correction, comfort, wisdom, or peace. They can also reveal hurry, pride, impatience, or the desire to be right. Gracious speech does not avoid truth; it speaks truth with the character of Christ. This is especially important in difficult conversations, where our tone may be remembered long after our exact words are forgotten.

RESPOND

Before one important conversation or message today, pause and ask: Is it true? Is it loving? Is it necessary? Will the way I say it reflect Christ? Then speak with both courage and gentleness.

PRAYER

Father, guard my heart and my words. Keep me from pride, impatience, and careless speech. Give me wisdom to know when to speak, what to say, and how to say it with the truth and grace of Jesus. Amen.

Receive Christ. Reflect Christ.
